Shell has land leases in Canada with the Crown (government) and individual landowners to develop the mineral resources – supporting all parts of the organization with oil, gas and oil sands resources or even deepwater exploration plays – from exploration to production. Working as part of inter-disciplinary teams, land administration encompasses all negotiations, organization and administration of land acquisitions and dispositions and record keeping associated with surface rights as well as the mineral (subsurface) rights.
In the acquisition phase, Land Administration plays a key role in enabling growth plans and in delivering an ongoing supply of proven and probable resources to sustain cash flow and growth. Working in Land Administration can be dynamic and fast-paced, requiring communication and relationship management with key internal, external and joint venture stakeholders and regulatory bodies and maintaining contracts and records.
Examples of typical roles include:
• Surface Land Representatives
• Staff Joint Venture Representatives
• Minerals Analysts
