Shell on national list of ‘diversity-focused employers’ in Canada

The Globe and Mail has named Shell Canada one of the “top diversity-focused employers” in the country for 2010.

Shell made the list because the company “provides gender-in-the-workplace training to help senior management teams increase their awareness of how gender differences affect communication and leadership styles, with the goal of facilitating the career development of female employees,” the Globe story says.

Shell’s Regional Recruitment Manager for the Americas, says he’s pleased by the recognition: “It is great to see Shell being recognized for leadership in building a diverse workforce in Canada. Our focus on attracting and developing talent from a broad range of backgrounds and experiences clearly helps strengthen our reputation as a preferred employer.”

“We foster a diverse and inclusive work environment where individual differences are respected”, says the Senior Talent Advisor for Heavy Oil. “We want Shell to be a place where the diversity of our employees is valued and where the richness of their ideas, backgrounds and perspectives can be harnessed to create value for the company.”
