Funding Guidelines and Process

While the most significant opportunities we bring to local communities are those directly related to our operations (such as the provision of employment and stimulation of the local economy) we also contribute to the general wellbeing of the community and the broader publics who grant our license to operate.

Since 2000, Shell in Canada has invested more than $75 million in a wide range of initiatives in three main areas: Environment, Employees and Education.

Projects in Communities Neighbouring our Operations

Shell provides funding for local projects that are located near our facilities and exploration interests throughout Canada. In these communities, we meet with our neighbours to understand the key community issues. To meet these priorities, we may extend our social investments beyond our core areas of Environment, Education and Employees. Examples of local funding initiatives range from community health to economic development and K to 12 educational programs.

You may also visit the relevant facility section of our website for more information about our operations.

Projects Involving Shell People

The volunteer efforts of employees, retirees and retailers/agents are recognized and rewarded by the Shell Community Service Fund (CSF), which provides financial support to not-for-profit organizations where Shell people regularly volunteer. The CSF provides grants of up to $1,000 per applicant.  Only Shell employees, retirees and retailers/agents may apply for a grant.

Apply for funding from the Shell Community Service Fund - opens in new window (for Shell employees, retirees and retailers/agents only.)
