Team Rotella® T Million Milers

We're recognizing trucking operators who chose the best and went the distance with ROTELLA T (PDF, 168 KB). So if you’re a driver or fleet manager of a vehicle that’s gone over a million miles without an overhaul, and only on ROTELLA T (other than the factory fill, all miles must be with ROTELLA T)

If you meet the initial qualifications, we’ll contact you to find out more about your million mile journey.

If you successfully passed all requirements, we will make you an official member of the Team ROTELLA T "Haul of Fame".

You’ll receive a unique leather jacket, a certificate of achievement and business cards identifying you as a Team ROTELLA T Million Miler. We’ll also take you and your partner or guest out for dinner or lunch, celebrating you achievement.

Not bad, considering all you have to do is go a million miles on ROTELLA T without an overhaul.

Here's what it takes to join team ROTELLA T:

• A completed maintenance record or log book verifying the engine has accumulated at least one million miles, and invoices or receipts verifying this are available.
• The original pistons, liners and rings are still in the engine after one million miles and no previous maintenance undertaken on the key components. It should be noted that this may require technical validation including engine disassembly. If inspection is required, it is in the best interest of the equipment to plan for this or have it coincide with a tear down which may be required for other reasons.
• The goal of the Team ROTELLA T Million Mile program is to recognize those trucks and their owners who have achieved one million miles or more with the original pistons, liners, and rings. This has become more common place with Rotella T and as such demonstration of engine life beyond a million miles is of interest to Shell. Complete oil purchases and oil change records supporting this are also required.
• Except for the initial oil fill on the engine, all oil changes and make up oil had to be Shell ROTELLA T.
• The truck owner and any previous owners must sign a legal declaration stating they meet all the requirements herein.
• The truck owner must provide all relevant details and information, requested in the "Customer Profile Form".
• Must be a Canadian based company or an owner/operator with Canadian citizenship.
• If you are not prepared or your engine does not require any repairs, we want to encourage the continued use of ROTELLA T. You will determine the longevity of and further demonstrate what you have already discovered with Rotella T, that it does deliver million mile performance and more. This in no way precludes becoming a member of Team ROTELLA T, however, it may postpone completion of the process.

Toronto, Ontario - Shell Lubricants is proud to announce that the ROTELLA T Million Miler Haul of Fame has reached over 50,000,000 combined miles of long-haul drivers who have used ROTELLA T* heavy duty engine oil exclusively in their diesel engines without an engine overhaul. This milestone comes with the addition of its newest Million Miler Haul of Fame member, John Redwood, of Cambridge, Ontario, who has taken his truck past one million miles.

“The Shell ROTELLA T Million Miler Program was conceived many years ago when we heard that a user went over a million miles on ROTELLA T without an engine overhaul”, says Mark Reed, Director of Marketing, Shell Lubricants in Canada. “Forty three drivers and fifty million ROTELLA T miles later, ROTELLA T is real life proof that ROTELLA T is the Genuine Million Mile Oil and is trusted by truckers for long engine life”.

Shell Lubricants has inducted more than forty owner-operators or fleet managers into the ROTELLA T Million Miler Haul of Fame since the program’s inception in 1992. To become a member of Team ROTELLA T, applicants must prove that their original pistons, liners and rings are still in the engine after 1 million miles with no maintenance undertaken on them.
