At Shell, we work closely with key Technical Schools to recruit talent for temporary student opportunities.

We are looking for students who are safety-conscious team players and want to be part of a high-performance team that works to keep a refinery, terminal, chemicals plant or onshore gas operations running at peak efficiency. You will gain key skills and training on-the-job with the support of mentors and a collaborative work team.

Focusing on Power Engineering Programs, Shell is committed to building our future talent of Operators by offering steam time to students from key Technical Schools. These summer positions typically run from May – August, but some locations have additional fall or winter terms.

Sarnia Manufacturing Complex (Corunna, ON) – Fall & Summer 8 month terms – Posted in January and September

Scotford Upgrader and Refinery (Fort Saskatchewan, AB) – Summer 4-6 month terms – Posted in October/November

Onshore/Field Operations – Summer 4-6 month terms - Posted in October/November

Whichever site you go to, you can expect to be paired with a Mentor/Trainer, learn the best safety procedures in the industry, have hands-on valuable experience and earn the steam time you need.
