Shell sells non-core Canadian shale assets to Crescent Point Energy

Calgary, AB – Royal Dutch Shell plc, through its affiliate Shell Canada Energy (“Shell”), has reached an agreement with publicly listed Canadian energy company Crescent Point Energy Corp. (“Crescent Point”) to sell its Duvernay shale light oil position in Alberta, Canada for a total consideration of US$707 million (C$900 million). The transaction has an effective date of January 1, 2021.

Calgary, AB – Following a 33-year career with Shell, Shell Canada President and Country Chair Michael Crothers has announced he will retire from the company in 2021. Crothers will be succeeded by Susannah Pierce, currently Director of Corporate Affairs, LNG Canada, and a Shell secondee. Both will remain in their current roles until the transition takes place.

Canadian drivers set to go carbon neutral with Shell

Calgary, AB – Shell will become the first retailer in Canada to offset carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from customers’ fuel purchases at Shell service stations across the country. The offsets cover all emissions from the production through to the use of the fuel.
