NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Escape to Grand Cayman with Shell Go+ Contest (the “Contest”) is sponsored by Shell Canada Products (the “Sponsor”). AIR MILES Loyalty Inc. is in no way connected to the management of this Contest. The Contest begins at 12:00:00 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) on September 9, 2024 and ends at 11:59:59 PM ET on September 29, 2024 (the “Contest Period”). Commencing on September 9, 2024, a promotional email (“Promotional Email”) inviting individuals to enter the Contest will be sent to existing Shell Go+ Members who have opted-in to receive promotional communications from the Sponsor. An email will also be sent to AIR MILES® collectors who have made a purchase at Shell in the past 24 months but are not Shell Go+ members, inviting them to take the steps necessary to become a Shell Go+ member and then enter the Contest.
ELIGIBILITY: To enter and be eligible to win, an entrant must (a) be a legal resident of Canada who has reached the age of majority at time of entry in the province or territory in which they reside, (b) be a Shell Go+ Member, (c) have a valid AIR MILES collector number, and (d) not be an employee of the Sponsor or its affiliated legal entities or agents, their respective advertising or promotional agencies, the independent contest organization, AIR MILES Loyalty Inc., or a member of any such employee’s immediate family (regardless of where they live) or persons with whom they are domiciled (whether related to the employee or not). In these Official Rules, “immediate family” means parents, siblings, children and/or legal or common-law spouse.
To become a Shell Go+ member and to be eligible to enter the Contest, you must be an AIR MILES collector. If you are not already an AIR MILES collector, you may enroll in the AIR MILES Reward Program by visiting airmiles.ca. By enrolling to become an AIR MILES collector, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of the AIR MILES Reward Program as amended from time to time. For the purposes of these Official Rules, the entrant is the individual in whose name the AIR MILES collector number has been established and this is the individual to whom the prize will be awarded if they are selected and declared a winner.
HOW TO ENTER THE CONTEST: At the outset of the Contest Period, existing Shell Go+ Members will receive a Promotional Email inviting them to click on the link found inside the Promotional Email received from the Sponsor to be directed to the website (the “Contest Website”). AIR MILES collectors who have shopped at Shell in the past 24 months but are not Shell Go+ members will receive a Promotional Email inviting them to become Shell Go+ members by downloading the Shell App and then linking their AIR MILES collector number in the membership section of the app. After completing those two (2) actions they will then be able to click on the link found inside the Promotional Email received from the Sponsor to be directed to the Contest Website. Upon visiting the Contest Website, filling out the online form (the “Entry Form”) and clicking the “Enter now” button, each Shell Go+ member will receive (1) entry (the “Entry”). The “Submit Entry” button must be clicked for the Entry Form to be successfully submitted. Entries must be received on or before 11:59:59 PM ET on September 29, 2024 (the “Contest Closing Date”). You may only use one (1) email address to enter the Contest. Limit of one (1) Entry per Shell Go+ member during the Contest Period.
GRAND PRIZE: There is one (1) prize (the “Grand Prize”) available to be won, consisting of a trip for two (2) people (the winner, herein called the “Winner”, and one (1) guest of the Winner (the “Travel Guest”)) to Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. The Grand Prize includes: round-trip premium/business class (as determined by the Sponsor) airfare for the Winner and their Travel Guest departing from the Canadian international airport closest to the Winner’s residence (the “Departure Point”) to the Owen Roberts International Airport in the Cayman Islands (airline and flight itinerary to be determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion); five (5) nights’ accommodation, all-inclusive (three (3) meals daily in select restaurants, soft drinks and most alcoholic drinks) at the Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman (the “Hotel”) in a oceanfront room based on double occupancy as determined and selected by the Sponsor in its sole discretion; ground transportation (as selected by the Sponsor) for the Winner and their Travel Guest to/from the Owen Roberts International Airport and the Hotel; three (3) excursions as selected by the Winner (from a selection of excursions provided by the Sponsor) for the Winner and their Travel Guest, a beach-side photo shoot, and $1,000.00 CDN spending money issued to the Winner in the form of a prepaid Mastercard. The total approximate retail value (“ARV”) of the Grand Prize is $30,000.00 (CDN) based on a Toronto, ON departure and may vary based on, without limitation, fare/rate fluctuations, point of departure, and departure/return dates of trip. The actual retail value of the Grand Prize may vary depending on the actual city of departure. No difference between the actual and approximate retail value will be awarded. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the following general conditions apply to the Grand Prize: (i) The Winner and their Travel Guest must travel on the same itinerary; (ii) The Winner and their Travel Guest must have the appropriate identification required for airport check-in and will be responsible for any travel documents, including a valid passport at their own expense (iii) no compensation will be made if the trip is cancelled due to failure to obtain necessary travel documents; (iv) The Winner and their Travel Guest must have met any applicable health and medical requirements allowing the Winner and their Travel Guest to be eligible for entry into Cayman Islands or the Grand Prize will be forfeited; (v) The costs of everything not specifically stated above as included in the Grand Prize are the sole responsibility of the Winner and their Travel Guest including without limitation: transportation to and from the Winner’s and/or Travel Guest’s residence to and from the departure airport; additional transportation while in the Caymen Islands (except as provided above); additional meals and additional drinks; gratuities; entertainment, except as provided above; insurance; items of personal nature (NOTE: the Winner may be required to present a valid major credit card in the Winner’s name at the time of hotel check-in to cover any incidental expenses); (vi) The Travel Guest must be age of majority or older at time of travel and must sign and return the Sponsor’s Release Form (as defined below), by the date indicated on the Release Form, indicating (among other things) that they waive all recourse against the Releasees (as defined below) relating to their participation in the Grand Prize (including, without limitation, any travel related thereto); (vii) There are no deviations as to travel allowed (i.e. length of stay, number of guests, flight stopovers, travel dates, etc.); (viii) If the Winner (and/or their Travel Guest) do not utilize any part(s) of the Grand Prize or is unable to participate in the trip after the trip has been booked for any reason whatsoever, then any such part(s) not utilized will be forfeited in their entirety and nothing will be substituted in their place; (ix) All travel arrangements relating to the Grand Prize must be made through the Sponsor’s designated travel agent and travel arrangements must be made at least 60 days prior to departure; (x) Travel must be completed by December 31, 2025 (the “Travel Completion Date”). Booking is subject to availability of flights and Hotel accommodation, blackout periods (including Christmas, Easter, March Break, all Canadian Statutory Holidays and any blackout periods), government restrictions and regulations, hotel, airline, airport and other transportation restrictions and regulations. Once made, travel arrangements are final and cannot be changed.
Without limiting the generality of any other terms set out in these Official Rules, the following general conditions apply to each Grand Prize: (i) By accepting the Grand Prize, the Winner agrees to waive all recourse against the Releasees (as defined below) for any reason whatsoever including if the Grand Prize or a component thereof does not prove satisfactory, either in whole or in part; and (ii) Grand Prize must be accepted as awarded without substitution, are not transferable, not for resale and have no cash surrender value. The Sponsor reserves the right at any time to: (a) place reasonable restrictions on the availability or use of the Grand Prize or any component thereof; and (b) substitute the Grand Prize or a component thereof for any reason with a prize or component of equal or greater value, without advance notice and without liability. A maximum of one (1) Grand Prize will be awarded.
GRAND PRIZE DRAW: A random draw will be held on October 3, 2024 (the “Draw Date”) at approximately 10:00 AM ET at the offices of Promotion Solutions (the “Independent Contest Organization”) in Oakville, ON from among all eligible Entries received by the Contest Closing Date. Odds of being selected for the Grand Prize depend on the total number of eligible Entries received by the Contest Closing Date. The selected entrants will be contacted by email within two (2) business days of the Draw Date. If the selected entrant (a) cannot be reached by email within two (2) business days of being contacted; (b) fails to correctly answer the mathematical skill testing question (see rule 5); (c) fails to complete the properly executed Release Form within the specified time (see rule 5); or (d) is unable or unwilling to accept the Grand Prize as awarded in full for any reason, then the selected entrant will be disqualified and another entrant will be randomly selected until such time as contact is made by email with a selected entrant or there are no more eligible entries, or by 60 days prior to the Travel Completion Date, whichever comes first. It is the entrants’ responsibility to ensure that their information (including a valid email address) associated with their AIR MILES collector number is up to date. The Sponsor will not be responsible for failed attempts to contact a selected entrant. Each selected entrant is subject to verification of eligibility by the Sponsor and compliance with the Official Rules before receiving the Grand Prize, and the Sponsor’s decisions in this regard are final and binding.
CONFIRMATION OF WINNER: In order to be confirmed a winner, a selected entrant must correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a mathematical skill-testing question and will be required to complete a Declaration and Release Form (the “Release Form”) confirming compliance with the Official Rules, acceptance of the Grand Prize as awarded, without substitution, and releasing the Sponsor, AIR MILES Loyalty Inc., its dealers, agents, affiliated and related companies, advertising and promotional agencies, the Independent Contest Organization and their respective shareholders, directors, officers, employees, agents, dealers, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively, the “Releasees”) from any liability in connection with the Grand Prize or this Contest. Release Forms must be completed and submitted within the time period specified on the Release Form or the Grand Prize may be forfeited. Failure of the Travel Guest to return their Release Form will result in the Travel Guest being disqualified from participation in the Grand Prize. Upon receipt and verification, Grand Prize will be coordinated with the confirmed Winner by the Sponsor.
GENERAL: By entering the Contest, entrants agree to abide by these Official Rules and all decisions of the Independent Contest Organization with respect to any aspect of the Contest. Decisions made by the Independent Contest Organization are final.
No correspondence will be entered into except with the selected entrants. By entering the Contest, the Winner consents to the use of their name and address (city and province/territory), voice, photograph and/or likeness without further remuneration, in any and all media now known or hereinafter developed throughout the world in perpetuity, in connection with any publicity carried out by or on behalf of the Sponsor or AIR MILES Loyalty Inc. in connection with this Contest.
This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, territorial and municipal laws and regulations.
To the extent permitted by law, the Releasees accept no responsibility for loss, damage or claims caused by or resulting from the Contest or acceptance of the Grand Prize. The Sponsor will not be responsible for late, lost, illegible, incomplete, falsified or destroyed entries and all such entries are void. Entries that have been falsified, tampered with or altered are void. The Sponsor, AIR MILES Loyalty Inc., and the Independent Contest Organization, do not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer lines or networks, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof. Entry material/data that have been tampered with or altered are void. In the event it is determined that an entrant has entered in a fashion not sanctioned by these Official Rules and/or has submitted more than the number of Entries permitted by these Official Rules, the entrant will be disqualified, and all the entries submitted by the entrant will be disqualified. The use of an invalid email address will disqualify the Entry. Users spamming the same email address will disqualify the Entry. Users using an automated script or program to send to a friend will be disqualified. In the event of a dispute, Entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. “Authorized account holder” is defined as the person who is assigned an email address by an internet provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational institute, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. If the identity of an entrant is disputed, the authorized account holder associated with the email account at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant. The selected entrant may be required to provide proof that they are the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the selected entry name change. The sole determinant of the time for the purposes of a valid entry in this Contest will be the contest server machine(s).
The Sponsor reserves the right to terminate or suspend this Contest or to amend the Official Rules at any time and in any way, without prior notice. Without limiting the foregoing, if, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as originally planned, the Sponsor reserves the right to cancel the Contest and conduct a draw from all previously received eligible entries. The Sponsor and the Independent Contest Organization shall not be held responsible for any problems, errors or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the Contest.
The Sponsor respects an entrant’s right to privacy. Personal information collected from entrants will only be used by the Sponsor to administer the Contest and, only if consent is given at the time of entry, to provide the entrants with information regarding upcoming promotions and/or events from the Sponsor. If entrants provide consent when entering the Contest, entrants consent to the manner of collection, use and disclosure of personal information as set out in the Sponsor’s privacy statement, which is available at: https://www.shell.ca/en_ca/privacy.html
