Community Grant Program

Shell provides funding for non-profit organizations in select communities near our operations where the Community Grant Program is offered.

What is the Community Grant Program?

The program was launched in 2013 by our Scotford asset and has since expanded to include more of our operating areas. It is a separate funding initiative from our general social investments designed to support one-time community projects that are sustainable over the long term. 

Some amazing projects do not meet the criteria set out for our general social investment funding for various reasons. Through the Community Grant Program, we are able to offer $5,000 grants to successful applicants.

Who is eligible?

Non-profit organizations can apply for grant funding.

Organizations not eligible for a grant include: individuals or individual pursuits, for-profit businesses, sports teams, sports tournaments, homeowners’ associations, fraternal or labour organizations, political organizations, and religious organizations for the sole benefit of the organization.

Alberta

Grande Prairie Community Grant Program – available to those in the Community of Grande Prairie and area.

Fox Creek Community Grant Program – available to those in the community of Fox Creek

Scotford Community Grant Program – including the areas of Strathcona County, Fort Saskatchewan, Sherwood Park and Bruderheim.

Rocky Mountain House Community Grant Program – available to those in the community of Rocky Mountain House and area.

British Columbia

Northeast B.C. Community Grant Program – applicable to Dawson Creek, Chetwynd, Fort St. John, Hudson’s Hope, Tumbler Ridge and surrounding communities including Indigenous communities.
