Where can I find the Shell App?

The Shell App is free to download, and you can find it in your device’s app store. You can also find a link to download it on Shell.ca/App.

What are the benefits of downloading the Shell App?

Using the Shell App is the most convenient and secure way to pay for all your Shell purchases and earn rewards with each visit.

  • The Shell App offers mobile payments with Shell EasyPay which is compatible with virtually all major credit and debit card providers. It also allows you to pay with any card in your Apple Pay or Google Pay wallet.
  • Find the nearest Shell station using the Station Locator. Plus, find the nearest car wash.

How to I set up mobile payment in the Shell App?

  1. Launch the Shell App and select “More” along the bottom menu.
  2. Select “Payment Methods”.
  3. Next, add a new credit card by selecting “Add payment method” or link the Shell App with Apple Pay or Google Pay.

How do I access my receipt in the Shell App?

  1. Launch the Shell App and select “More” along the bottom menu.
  2. Select “Transactions & Receipts”.
    1. You will see a list of previous transactions made using the Shell App. You can click on any of the transactions to see more details.
  3. Clicking on “Shell EasyPay Receipts” will display any receipts for purchases made in-app such as car wash passes.
  4. You will also receive receipts by email.

Why does the Shell App need to use my location?

For your convenience, we recommend that you allow precise location access to have the best app experience. More details on how we handle customer data can be found in our privacy policy.

Where are Shell Recharge locations in Canada?

In Canada, Shell continues to develop its network to enable a convenient and reliable charging experience. EV charging stations are located at select sites, please see the "Locations" tab for the nearest to you.

Where can I find the nearest Shell Recharge location?

All of our public charging locations are displayed in the Shell app under “Locations”.

How do I use the Shell app at a Shell Recharge location to start/stop a charge session?

  1. Make sure your vehicle is ready to begin charging.
  2. Launch the Shell app and toggle to the EV mode.
  3. Find a Shell Recharge via the location finder feature in the Shell app.
  4. Select “Charge.”
  5. Select a connector via the app.
  6. Confirm your payment details.
  7. Plug the connector into your EV.

When finished charging, select “Stop Charging,” and disconnect the plug from your vehicle.

Can I use the Shell app at another provider’s charging station?

Yes, you can find our roaming partners’ compatible charging locations displayed in the “Location” tab within the Shell app.

How do I use the Shell app at a roaming partner's charging station to start/stop a charge session?

  1. Make sure your vehicle is ready to begin charging.
  2. Launch the Shell app and toggle to the EV mode.
  3. Find a roaming partner via the location finder feature in the Shell app.
  4. Select “Charge.”
  5. Select a connector via the app.
  6. Confirm your payment details.
  7. Plug the connector into your EV.

When finished charging, select “Stop Charging,” and disconnect the plug from your vehicle.

How do I remove a connector that is not releasing from my vehicle?

Many vehicles have a charger-lock feature designed to prevent your vehicle from being unplugged while charging. Check your vehicle for model-specific locking and unlocking mechanisms.

If the connector continues to not release properly you could try turning off your vehicle, then locking and unlocking it using your key fob three times. Please be aware that certain vehicles may have an auto lock/unlock button located on the dashboard or near the charging port, while others may require a manual cord release.
