Shell Loyalty Frequently Asked Questions

Shell is teaming up with Scene+, Scotiabank and Tangerine to create a loyalty experience that gives you more value on everyday visits. Available now in Alberta and expanding nationwide May 26, 2026, you can earn and redeem Scene+ points at participating Shell stations on fuel, car wash and eligible convenience purchases. Plus, when you link and pay with your eligible Scotiabank or Tangerine payment card, you unlock instant savings at the pump.

The program is now available in Alberta and expands across Canada on May 26, 2026.

You can continue to earn and redeem as you do today with our current loyalty program until then.

You can join Scene+ by signing up online at sceneplus.ca or through the Scene+ app. You can also pick up a physical Scene+ card at participating Shell stations or scan the QR codes found at Shell sites to become a Scene+ member. Physical cards need to be registered online to redeem points. Linking your Scene+ account to Shell Go+ in the Shell App makes earning and redeeming simple and automatic.

You can maximize your savings by stacking the rewards you get from Scene+, Scotiabank or Tangerine, CAA and Shell Go+.

With Scene+ at Shell you can:

• Earn 1 Scene+ point per litre on all grades of Shell fuel.
• Earn 1 Scene+ point per $1 on eligible convenience retail and car wash purchases.
• Redeem 1,000 Scene+ points for $10 off fuel, car wash or eligible convenience items instantly, at the pump or in-store.

When you link your Scene+ membership to Shell Go+, you can earn 10% more bonus points on Shell Regular, Plus and Diesel, 2x more bonus points on Shell V-Power® and 10% more bonus points on eligible convenience retail and car wash purchases.

If you’re a Scene+ member, you can earn Scene+ points at Shell by swiping your Scene+ card at the pump or in store, by paying with the Shell App after linking your Scene+ membership, or by paying with an eligible Scotiabank card that is linked to your Scene+ account. You earn points on fuel, car wash and eligible convenience purchases at participating Shell locations.

If you’re an eligible Scene+ member, you can redeem points in increments of 1,000 for $10 off your purchase of fuel, car wash, or eligible convenience items at participating Shell locations. You choose how many points to use (at least 1,000 per transaction and in increments of 1,000 points unless otherwise permitted) and pay the remaining balance with cash, debit or credit. Yes. You can register in any of the following ways:

• Sign up for a new account at sceneplus.ca or through the Scene+ app.
• Scan the QR code displayed on the Shell pump or in-store signage and follow the emailed instructions.
• Pick up a physical Scene+ card in-store and follow the steps to register it online.
• If you picked up a physical Scene+ card but haven’t registered yet, you can still earn Scene+ points on eligible purchases. You won’t be able to redeem points, or access offers until your account is fully registered.

Yes. If your Scene+ membership account is linked to your Shell Go+ account, you can earn and redeem Scene+ points simply by making the purchase on your linked Scotiabank card. You can earn and redeem Scene+ points no matter how you choose to pay, whether it is a physical card or through your favorite digital wallet, such as Apple or Google pay.

Yes! When you link your Scene+ membership to Shell Go+ in the Shell App, you can earn 10% more bonus points on Shell Regular, Plus and Diesel , 2x more bonus points on Shell V-Power® and10% more bonus points on eligible convenience retail and car wash purchases. For full program details read more

In addition to getting Scene+ points on qualifying purchases at participating Shell locations, members can get points by presenting their Scene+ card or providing their Scene+ account every time they make qualifying purchases at Participating Partners. You can view your Scene+ account online by visiting sceneplus.ca/login or in the Scene+ app. 

Points typically appear within 24 hours, but in rare cases may take up to 48 hours. If your points haven’t appeared within 48 hours, call the Scene+ Contact Centre at 1-866-586-2805.

Yes. You will continue to earn Scene+ points on the full value of your eligible purchase, including the portion paid with redeemed points.

Yes. Points earned at Shell are part of the broader Scene+ program and may be eligible for Scene+ promotions, in line with program terms and conditions.

No. Scene+ points earned at Shell follow the same rules as points earned with other Scene+ partners.

When a purchase includes both eligible and ineligible items, Scene+ points are earned and redeemed only on the eligible portion of the transaction. Ineligible items—such as products excluded under the program’s Terms and Conditions—are not included in the points calculation. This ensures points are applied consistently and transparently across all purchases.

If a transaction is refunded or voided, any Scene+ points earned or redeemed on that transaction will be adjusted accordingly. For full refunds, points are reversed. For partial refunds, points are adjusted based on the eligible portion that was returned. This helps ensure customers’ point balances remain accurate.

Eligible Scotiabank credit and debit cards that are linked to your Shell Go+ account unlock an instant 3¢ per litre savings on any grade of fuel. Eligible Scotiabank credit cards that earn Scene+ points and are linked to Shell Go+ unlock an additional 4¢ per litre in savings on Shell V-Power® at participating Shell locations. That’s a total of 7¢ per litre instant savings.

You can link your Scotiabank credit or debit card through the Scotiabank mobile banking app, Scotiabank online banking

 or in the Shell App.

Yes. If your Scene+ membership account is linked in the Shell App, you can earn and redeem Scene+ points simply by making the purchase on your linked Scotiabank card. There is no need to separately swipe your Scene+ card

To unlock more benefits, start by linking your eligible Scotiabank card to your Shell Go+ account in the Shell App.

Once your card is linked, simply pay at the pump or in-store using:

• The Shell App
• Your linked Scotiabank card
• Entering the phone number connected to your Shell Go+ account

Your savings will apply automatically when you fuel up.

You can pay and get discounts in a variety of ways, either use the physical card or pay through the Shell App, Apple Pay or Google Pay

Yes! You can combine Scene+ points, Shell Go+ bonuses and Scotiabank instant savings in a single transaction when eligible. Linking your accounts to Shell Go+ is the easiest way to unlock the maximum value.

Linked Scotiabank credit cards that earn Scene+ points are eligible for an additional 4¢ per litre in savings on Shell V-Power®. Plus, you can get up to 3¢ per litre in Scene+ points value.

You can maximize your savings by stacking the rewards you get from Scene+, Scotiabank and Shell Go+ to get up to 10¢ per litre in total value.

Here’s how:

• Save 3¢ per litre instantly on any grade of fuel with an eligible Scotiabank card linked to Shell Go+
• Save an additional 4¢ per litre on Shell V‑Power® with an eligible Scotiabank credit card that earns Scene+ points and is linked to Shell Go+.
• Get up to 3¢ per litre in Scene+ points value when you fill up with Shell V-Power® and pay with a linked Scotiabank credit card that earns Scene+ points (Shell Go+ members earn 2 points per litre on Shell V-Power® and earn at least 1 point per dollar on purchases made with their eligible Scotiabank credit card that earns Scene+ points).

Eligible CAA members who are also Shell Go+ members can stack an additional 3¢ per litre, bringing the total potential value to up to 13¢ per litre.

Eligible Tangerine Credit Cards that are linked to your Shell Go+ account unlock:

• Instant 3¢ per litre savings on any grade of fuel
• Up to 3¢ per litre in cash back when you pay with a linked Tangerine Credit Card and have fuel selected as a 2% Category
• 1¢ per litre in Scene+ points value on all grades of Shell fuel, or 2¢ per litre in Scene+ points value on Shell V-Power® when you link your Scene+ Account to Shell Go+.

You can link your eligible Tangerine Credit Card through the Tangerine mobile banking app website, or in the Shell App.

You can earn instant savings and Scene+ points by ensuring your payment card and membership are linked in the Shell App. Once linked, all you have to do is pay with your linked Tangerine Credit Card to get savings and rewards!

Yes. You can stack Scene+ points, Shell Go+ bonuses, Tangerine instant savings and CAA savings when eligible. Linking your accounts to Shell Go+ helps ensure you receive all available rewards.

• Earn 1¢ per litre in Scene+ points value on all grades of Shell fuel, or 2¢ per litre in Scene+ points value on Shell V-Power® when you pay with your linked Tangerine Credit Card, and your Scene+ Account is linked to Shell Go+.
