We produce light tight oil (LTO) from the Montney shale formation in northwestern Alberta in Gold Creek. On February 17, 2021, Shell announced the sale of our Duvernay assets to Crescent Point Energy Corp.
The AOSP includes the Albian Sands mining and extraction operations (Muskeg River and Jackpine mines) north of Fort McMurray, Alberta, and the Scotford upgrader and Quest CCS project northeast of Edmonton, Alberta.
We are working with partners to design, build and operate an LNG export terminal in Kitimat, British Columbia.
We refine approximately 75,000 barrels per day of raw crude oil into gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and more.
The Shell Scotford Complex consists of a bitumen upgrader, oil refinery, chemicals plant and a carbon capture and storage (CCS) facility.
